Running Virtual Box
I know that I like to talk about Ubuntu or Linux in general, and that I personally think that it is a very good system. But I also like the fact that you can run software that will let you run other software inside the OS. Virtual Box is one that I like to use alot, not only is it free and Open Source Software but it is really easy to use and configure.
I wanted to show this picture of Ubuntu running Virtual Box with WindowsXp and a program called ‘Artiseer’ running on that. So here is the photo:
More fun…
Well I have taken a leap and upgraded to Alpha 2 version of Ubuntu. I think that I am moving towards the more testing issue of this operating system. And so far I have not been disappointed. Time to press on and continue with the PHP (yeah).
HELP!!
Well I’m stuck.
I’m trying to learn PHP coding, and I have run into a bit of a dilema.
My login page that is suppose to take me to a user page. But the user page is not coming up at all. I’m not seeing anything. So I’ve been pouring over this stuff to see where i made a mistake. And it’s getting quite hard. Everything looks good but no luck.
OK. Maybe I need a spell check on this IDE software that I am running. All it takes is one word spelled wrong and your ripping your hair out for 3 hours.
Live and learn….
Off again…
So here I am running Ubuntu again. Not too bad, I am able to di things that I could do before.
So once again I am going to try and run with this for awhile and see how it goes. Hopefully I can run it longer than a couple of weeks.
Keep ya posted…
Might be a good thing..
Well on my way to picking up my daughter from school I figured I would post some resume’s out there. So I did about three of them and basically went about my business.
I had gotten home when my phone rang (it’s got this really cool ring-tone…..anyways). So I answer the phone and it’s a company that fixes re-furbished IT equipment. That’s what I did before I got laid off. And they want me to come in tomorrow for an interview. Which I thought was cool because….
I just sent out the resume right before I went to pick up my daughter.
Wish me luck on this one…
Update on this…
Well they liked the way I was talking and stuff. If I get the job they want me to start out as a consultant, moving my way into the position. They haven’t ever worked on this equipment before and need someone with the know-how to work on these boards.
So I am hoping that I get this. Might hear something today.
Another Day…
I wish I would have started doing this when this first happened to me, but maybe I’ll just pick it up where it starts on the wrong end.
Still looking for a job, I have two more payments on my Unemployment and it doesn’t look like there is an extension on payments for me (of course I will keep my fingers crossed).
I did go to an interview last Friday at a company called Scarab Consulting, though I feel that I totally screwed it big time. Which made me very upset because I know that I could bring so much.
I had another interview a week earlier, but that fell through. I guess that I don’t have what it takes to do tech support. But I will press on.
A Linux venture
I am going to run a linux system for one month to see if it is comparable to what I do in Windows. This is day one and I am writing this blog entry using a program called drivel. More to come…
